It is said mankind is to blame for global warming and it is man only who can make hell and heaven of this beautiful living planet, our Earth. Is man ready to be the savior?
Life on earth began millions of years back and man set his foot on this splendid planet thousands of years ago, ever since the planet has changed drastically, thanks to man again. Our costly means of living, our reluctance to shift technology, our burning enormous amount of fossils, our deforestation spree, our urbanization spree, our mismanagement of resources, our half-hearted efforts in curbing emissions and our willingness to be the first have come with a hefty price and the price has been paid by none other than our mother earth. Man is to blame for the evils happening on earth, yet man’s reluctance to pay heed to the alterations he made and what his modifications did to the planet and its surrounding have become a roadblock in breathing fresh, cool air.

Non-stop usage of fossil fuels in factories, industries, vehicles and the like is turning earth into a pressure cooker, burdening the atmosphere, choking clean air, disrupting natural carbon and water cycles, threatening wild and marine life, menacing the natural beauty of the planet by melting dotting glaciers and icebergs that are the lifeline of rivers, thereby upsetting the water balance resulting in droughts and floods, sea level rise and inundation of coasts. Every new development on earth starts and ends with man.
We have built our defences against our enemies, but what about our biggest adversary, global warming? Man doesn’t realize that what he is doing will one day snatch life from earth once the atmosphere is choked with greenhouse emissions. However, only man can now save himself and the earth by abdicating the usage of fossil fuels that emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, increasing global temperatures on earth and in the oceans, very much turning the planet into a blast furnace. Only if we initiate the trend of relying more on renewable resources such as the solar, water, wind, green energy, that emit no greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, keeping it clean and pure, we can easily save the planet and ourselves.

Today, the entire globe is facing the heat, with almost all the places either suffering desiccating droughts or enormously flooded. Nations, be it developed or developing countries, must stop blaming each other and do their every bit to put reins on their emissions.
It is left to man to keep this serene planet a heaven or turn it into nothing less than a hell. The day to control ourselves is today, tomorrow it will be very late. Are we ready?
