Well, we can see the days coming back’ the days of cold war; we can see Russia is back and that too with a bang.
If US tested the ‘mother of all bombs,’ it was but obvious, how could Russia lag behind? The latter tested the ‘dad of all bombs’ on Tuesday, which though not a nuclear weapon, yet gives air to its chilly relations with the former heralding a new Cold War era of bomb testing and pretending powers.

Souring ties with the US, Russia found no other way than showcasing military power, what it claims is a non-nuclear, pollution free, ‘Dad of all Bombs’ that could easily send shivers from North to South Pole. So, should we say the race for more and more arms is on? Or is it the beginning of a new Cold War era?
The notion that world is a dangerous place to live in, is getting firmer and with Russia testing another super-power bomb, its claim of being the most powerful nation above the US seems to be strengthening. The race for North Pole treasure hunt and superpower claims is also aired by Russia gaining-in strength. Is it the beginning of a clampdown on U.S. hegemony?

Ever since Putin’s harsh criticism of US and its unilateral foreign policy at a trans-Atlantic security conference held in Munich that injected fresh dose of tension, now seems to paralyze the world order.

The Cold War era began as a tussle over ideology and culminated in massive arms race. The new-cold war in the offing seems to be more a fight to have economic and military might and may result in ideological conflict. The present scenario of arms built up heralds the beginning of a catastrophe that the Second World War warned about. The conflict of superiority spans from arms build up, marginalizing other powers, colonizing weaker ones, claiming supremacy and controlling others as clay dolls, thereby bringing the world on the door steps of devastation.

Russia may not think about stability of the world because gaining supremacy above US seems to be its sole aim. With a growth rate that is bringing the country’s population down enormously, what is the supremacy going to pay it? It must look into building its population base, rather than plaguing the world with weapons of mass destruction. America has already committed that mistake and Russia is ready to follow it and then emerge as the leader.
